Next generation data incubator
REACH Incubator
To take a leading position on Data Economy, Europe is placing focus on breaking “data silos”, and accessing, sharing and reusing data, still ensuring that this happens in a secured and trusted manner. For that, the European Commission is supporting pilot projects and innovation spaces to allow experimentation on cross-sector multi-stakeholder data innovation.
REACH is a European-wide second-generation incubator for data-fuelled start-ups & SMEs that aims to facilitate the development of trusted and secure innovative solutions based on industrial and personal data.
REACH aims to be the main innovation mechanism that supports experimentations on secure and trusted data value chains across several sectors and launching of new data-fuelled products and services to the market, leveraging the capacities of the best data-driven DIHs in Europe. Over its lifetime, REACH will support +100 business ideas from SMEs and select among them 30 solid business cases through a total of three open calls in the coming three years, distributing a total amount of €3.5M. Ultimately, REACH aims to demonstrate that Data Silos can be broken by enabling a multi-stakeholder cross-sectorial incubator to boost data-fuelled sustainable solutions.
Our Ecosystem
REACH will create an immersive and intertwined virtual as well as physical multistakeholder ecosystem, supported by the existing networks of DIHs and competence centres in the field of trusted and secure data value chains. REACH ecosystem will support pilot projects and innovation spaces for experimenting with proprietary industrial data along with personal data.
The incubator will disseminate the results of the experimentations and their economic and social impact for companies and citizens across Europe, and ensure the sustainability of the REACH data-driven innovation hub beyond the extent of the project, supported by other initiatives of Common European Data Space including the Big Data Value PPP.
