ENERGY SOURCES OPTIMIZATION

Product Description

TRAKEN is building software infrastructure on Blockchain to facilitate the encrypted, secure and transparent access to prosumer’s smart meters and metering records. Platform represents a form of digital identity management system for smart meters and other equipment assets, and would serve as enabler for more flexible reconciliation on physical and financial levels within power networks. TRAKEN will structure and store metadata, and provide encrypted access to metering records, ultimately creating protocol for creation of standardized product passport for each unique smart meter that would be hashed and written into Blockchain. Such encrypted IDs of smart meters would then have great potential to engage in different arrangements with prosumer IDs through Smart Contracts and Ricardian Contracts on Blockchain, including assignment of prosumers to multiple meters, switching between accounts and providers, balancing consumption on micro level by trading between prosumers, syndicated trading, and energy crowdsourcing. TRAKEN will enable all above mentioned mechanism, that are not yet possible due to heavy data-related issues that power grids are facing for decades, such as the standardization of data semantics, integration challenges between stakeholders, integrity and security of data, tampering and loss of relevant data, absence of provenance or audit trails. TRAKEN observes the interoperability of distributed energy sources data, together with smart meter product passport and possibilities of propulsion of such data package throughout different Blockchain networks, digital platforms, stakeholders’ services, different SCADA systems operated by DSOs. TRAKEN will create foundations for triggering new business opportunities and revenue streams for up-graded, innovative energy services which valorize energy savings and flexible consumption, stimulate uptake of technologies and non-energy benefits by engaging new sectors and market actors.

Usage of Standards for data interoperability:

  • IEC 61968

  • EBSI Notarisation and European Self-Sovereign Identity

  • IEEE 1547 Standard for Interconnection and Interoperability of Distributed Energy Resources with Associated Electric Power Systems Interfaces

Company Description

TRAKEN TECH d.o.o. was incorporated in September 2019 in Belgrade, Serbia, after the conclusion of EIT Climate KIC 2019 Accelerator, through which we were supported by financial grant and mentoring programme. As a high-tech start-up, company continued to develop and update the product idea and technology stack, by developing a prototype of TRAKEN software platform for data processing and asset management in electricity grids. Progress has been again recognized by European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and in 2020 we were selected for second phase of EIT Climate KIC 2020 Accelerator, and received financial support for completion of the MVP development. TRAKEN TECH d.o.o. has been a finalist on ABB’s Dragon’s Den 2019 challenge in November and participated in several others online accelerator programmes specialized in either Blockchain or power grids. Company has also been selected to participate in the Celo Camp Blockchain Accelerator during March and April 2020, and was also elected for the first phase of BlockStart Open Call 2 (Horizon 2020) project’s cascade funding in Q4 of 2020.

As a full service engineering company, with focus on high-level software, TRAKEN TECH d.o.o. offers its clients top quality solutions custom-tailored to their demands.
